Security Summary 9/13-9/19

Friday, September 13th

2:05 p.m. Suspicious Person Duck Pond

Visitor reported that an individual made her feel uncomfortable after asking an inappropriate question. The area was checked; individual not located.

12:12 a.m. Suspicious Person Comfort Hall

A student notified Campus Safety of three or four unknown individuals attempting to gain access to Comfort Hall. Individuals ran off campus when they saw Campus Safety arrive on location.

Saturday, September 14th

10:02 p.m. Vandalism 15 Hannum Drive

The card reader at 15 Hannum Dr. at the main door was damaged by unknown person(s), but still functioning.

11:55 p.m. Fire Alarm 19 Hannum Drive

An alarm activation at 19 Hannum Dr. was caused by drinks spilled on top of the alarm panels in the basement during a party. The system could not be reset; the party was shut down.

12:00 a.m. Alcohol Illness 23 Hannum Drive

A report was received of a student who was experiencing an alcohol related illness at 23 Hannum Dr. The Nurse on Call was notified. Student will be watched over by friends throughout the night. The Graduate Assistant was notified.

12:15 a.m. Alcohol Illness 19 Hannum Drive

A report was received of a Bryn Mawr student who was experiencing an alcohol related illness at 19 Hannum Dr. The student was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital by ambulance. Bryn Mawr College Campus Safety and the Graduate Assistant were notified.

1:06 a.m. Alcohol Illness Lloyd Hall

A report was received of a student who was experiencing an alcohol related illness at Lloyd section 9. The Nurse on Call and the Graduate Assistant were notified. The student remained on campus.

1:27a.m. Alcohol Illness Tritton Hall

A report was received of a student who was experiencing an alcohol related illness at Tritton Hall. The Nurse on Call and Graduate Assistant were notified. Student will be watched over by friends throughout the night.

Monday, September 16th

12:54 a.m. Safety Hazard 31 Hannum Drive

A student notified Campus Safety that he smelled an odor of gas in his apartment at 31 Hannum Dr. Responding officers determined that the odor was coming from the basement. HCA maintenance discovered a small leak coming from the heating system for one of the apartments. The gas to the leaking area was shut off. Remainder of the building was found to be okay. Residents were notified by email.

Wednesday, September 18th

6:06 p.m. Suspicious Person College Lane

A professor reported a suspicious female who was looking in the window of 4 College Lane and attempting to steal flowers. Officers located the female by the Duck Pond and identified her. She had been collecting pine cones for an art project.

6:20 p.m. Suspicious Person 30 Hannum Drive

A student reported a male who appeared to be using a tool to steal a bike from the bike rack at 30 Hannum Dr. Officers located the male and identified him as the father of a student. He was adjusting the seat on his daughter’s bike.

6:56 p.m. Safety Hazard 19 Hannum Drive

Student reported a heavy odor of gas at the entrance of 19 Hannum Drive. Officers responded and reported the odor was coming from the second floor stairway. PECO responded to 19 Hannum Dr. and turned off the gas to the stove in an apartment.

10:30 p.m. Suspicious Persons 14 Hannum Drive

Officer observed two males, one of whom fit the general description of a male from a previous incident, outside of 14 Hannum Dr. Upon seeing the officer, the males entered the building. A search was made, but the males could not be located.

Thursday, September 19th

8:38 p.m. Suspicious Persons Lloyd Lot

Report of two males sitting in a vehicle in Lloyd Lot. Vehicle located and found to be occupied by Dining Center employees.

9:09 p.m. Suspicious Person South Lot

A report was received of a parked vehicle in the South Lot. The driver was crouched down with a towel over his head, as if he were trying to hide. Officers checked the area, the car was not found.

12:30 a.m. Suspicious Person College Circle

Officer reported seeing an individual near the rear of 1 College Circle. The individual was stopped and identified as a Haverford College student.
