Security Summary 5/2-5/8

Friday, May 2nd

5:45 p.m. Suspicious Person Lloyd Hall

A report was received of a suspicious male at Lloyd Hall. The male, who is known to officers as a mentally challenged local resident, left campus upon request. A second report was later received of the male being back in the area of Lloyd Hall. The area was checked, but the male could not be located.

 

Saturday, May 3rd

1:37 p.m. Noise Complaint Lloyd Hall

Student reported loud music at Lloyd Hall. Student advised that this was a Haverfest-related activity. It was later reported that the incident was not related to Haverfest.

5:37 p.m. Safety Hazard Founders Green

Large amount of broken glass reported on path between Founders green and Magill Library. Facilities responded and cleared area of glass.

9:40 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Unauthorized Use Founders Hall

Several incidents were reported of students forcing open basement level windows and entering Founders Hall during the concert. Several of the students were identified; the names were turned over to the Dean’s Office.

9:54 p.m. Personal Injury Founders Green

A privately-owned food truck operator was burned while preparing food. Worker was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital by Llanerch Ambulance.

 

Sunday, May 4th

12:04 a.m. Alcohol Illness Founders Hall

Officer reported an alcohol-related illness in the basement of Founders. After being evaluated by EMT’s, the Nurse on Call allowed student to remain on campus and be watched over by a friend.

2:37 a.m. Check on Wellbeing Lloyd Hall

A student requested for Campus Safety to check on the well-being of a male outside Lloyd Hall who was drinking a beer. The male was gone upon arrival of officers.

2:43 a.m. Fire Alarm Lunt Hall

Officers responded to a fire alarm at Lunt Hall. Cause of activation was marijuana smoke. No one was in the area at the time of discovery.

1:57 p.m. Suspicious Person INSC

Officer on patrol observed a male sleeping in the Math lounge (H-208). Officer had observed this male the previous day in the same area wearing the same clothing. The male stated that he was on leave from the college, but looking to get reinstated. He had been on campus for Haverfest. He was identified and told the officer he was leaving the area.

11:27 p.m. Noise Complaint Lloyd Hall

Student reported loud music at Lloyd Hall. All was quiet upon the arrival of officers.

 

Tuesday, May 6th

12:31 p.m. Theft Drinker

Unknown individual took two keg taps from Drinker sometime overnight. Reporting party declined to file a police report.

5:59 p.m. Suspicious Person Duck Pond

Haverford College professor contacted Campus Safety regarding a male who had bothered his teenage daughter while she was at the Duck Pond. Officers responded and checked the area for the subject with negative results.

11:38 p.m. Noise Complaint Lloyd Hall

An anonymous caller notified Campus Safety of loud music coming from Lloyd Hall. Officers advised students to turn down the music and they complied. A second complaint was received a few minutes later. The students were informed that if there were any further complaints, the area would be cleared.

 

Wednesday, May 7th

2:31 p.m. Vandalism Featherbed Field

A campus visitor reported inappropriate images painted on lower Featherbed Field. Officers found an area painted, but did not find inappropriate images.

 

Thursday, May 8th

12:20 a.m. Disturbance 19 Hannum Drive

A student reported yelling coming from 19 Hannum Drive. Officers responded, but there was no sign of anyone yelling. Investigation continuing.

12:46 a.m. Disturbance Leeds Hall

Student reported yelling inside of Leeds Hall. Officers dispatched to location, but the individuals left prior to officer’s arrival. Investigation continuing.

11:59 p.m. Fire Alarm Lloyd Hall

An alarm activation at Lloyd Hall was caused by marijuana smoke. No one was in the area upon discovery.

12:50 a.m. (Friday) Vandalism Drinker

The lower panel of the front door was discovered missing at Drinker House. The door could not be secured. A Facilities carpenter was contacted. The carpenter responded and temporarily fixed the door.
