Campus Safety Brief, 2/26/21 – 3/4/21

Friday, February 26th

10:41 p.m.                              COVID Complaint                           Leeds Hall

A report was received of a large unmasked group in the area between Leeds and Gummere. Officers responded and no one was found in the area. A gathering was found inside the tent on Leeds Green; the occupants were masked and distanced.

Saturday, February 27th

12:21 a.m.                              Noise Complaint                               Lloyd Hall

While on patrol, an officer heard extremely loud music coming from the first section of Lloyd Hall.  Upon investigation, a group of six students were located (masked and distanced) and the volume was lowered.

1:03 a.m.                                Noise Complaint                               Leeds Hall

A student called to complain of loud noise coming from Leeds Green. Officers responded and found a group of approximately 10 (masked and distanced) in the area.  The group dispersed upon request.

3:55 p.m.                                Ambulance Transport                      Gummere Hall

A report was received from “Access Team Health” of a student in Gummere Hall who was in need of an ambulance.  Officers responded and an ambulance was called. The student was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital.

11:45 p.m.                              COVID Complaint                           Lloyd Hall

A report was received of possible safety protocol violations in Lloyd Hall.  Officers responded and found several small gatherings, but no safety violations.

Sunday, February 28th

12:18 a.m.                              Noise Complaint                               26 Hannum Drive

A complaint was received of loud music coming from HCA 26.  Officers responded and the volume was lowered upon request. A second complaint was received at 12:51 am, this time for loud voices. Officers again responded and informed the occupants of one of the apartments of the complaint. The students said they would lower their voices. The group was distanced and masked.

3:57 a.m.                                Noise Complaint                               Gummere Hall

A noise complaint was received from anonymous caller for Gummere section 2/2. Officer advised a student found in area to turn down music and he complied.

Monday, March 1st

6:20 p.m.                                Safety Hazard                                   Yarnall House

A report was received of low hanging wires at the rear of Yarnall; PECO was notified. The wires were identified as cable wires.

11:22 p.m.                              Noise Complaint                               19 Hannum Drive

A complaint was received of loud music coming from the second floor of 19 Hannum Drive. Music was turned down upon request.

Tuesday, March 2nd

6:20 p.m.                                Ambulance Transport                      Infirmary

A request was received from Health Services for an ambulance to respond to the Infirmary.  An ill student was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital; the Dean on Call was notified.

Wednesday, March 3rd

10:20 p.m.                              Suspicious Persons                            Tritton Hall

A student reported two males smoking cigarettes without masks outside of Tritton Hall. The student believed the males were not Haverford students. Officer was unable to locate the males.

Thursday, March 4th

2:02 p.m.                                COVID Complaint                           26 Hannum Drive

A report was received of two people outside of 26 HCA not wearing masks. They were advised of campus policy.

3:26 p.m.                                Fire                                                     Walton Field

A report was received of a trashcan fire near the Walton Field track.  The fire was extinguished by Campus Safety.

6:11 p.m.                                Personal Illness                                 Dining Center

A student experienced a medical issue in the Dining Center.  Campus Safety, Narberth Ambulance and Haverford Police responded.  The student declined transport to the hospital.
