The Clerk is pleased to name Maggie Heffernan ’16 as the next Editor-in-Chief and Ben Horwitz ’17 as Associate Editor.

Heffernan, a junior English major, has been contributing to The Clerk since the 2013-2014 academic year, and served as Features Editor this past year.

“I am honored and excited to be stepping into the role of EIC.  I have very much enjoyed writing and editing for The Clerk during my time here at Haverford, and I am looking forward to carrying on the great tradition that Thy and Katie have established with the paper,” said Heffernan.

Horwitz, a sophomore, served as a Managing Editor for The Clerk this past year.

“I’m really thrilled to work closely with Maggie to continue to expand The Clerk’s role as Haverford’s independent newspaper,” said Horwitz. “In the next year, I hope to see The Clerk play host to important discussions on campus and serve as a platform for student and alumni opinions and debate.”

Departing Editor-in-Chief Katie Greifeld will continue to provide support and contribute to The Clerk until her graduation in May.

“I am incredibly sad to be saying goodbye to The Clerk, but I am thrilled to be leaving it in the hands of Maggie and Ben,” said Greifeld. “I look forward to watching The Clerk continue to grow and evolve, and hopefully become an even stronger presence on campus. It has been a privilege to lead the staff for the past year, and I cannot thank the editorial board, the writers, and the Haverford community enough for supporting us.”

Applications for the 2015-2016 editorial board will be opening soon. Please direct any questions to mheffern@haverford.edu.
