From the Archives: John C. Whitehead ’43

This article from the archives is posted in honor of John C. Whitehead ’43, a highly influential banker and Haverford donor, who died of cancer February 7th at the age of 92.

“He represented, in my view, the values that Haverford espouses – the life of extraordinary success and service. He was an exceptional listener, wise, and remarkably humble and self-possessed for someone of his stature and achievement,” said President Dan Weiss of Whitehead. “If you can aspire to live a life in that way, then John will have had an influence.”
