Security Summary 4/15-4/21

Friday, April 15th

8:47 a.m. Safety Hazard, College Lane

A report was received that a truck’s hydraulic line broke while driving onto College Lane spilling hydraulic fluid on the ground. The area was cleaned.

9:43 p.m. Disturbance, College Lane

A Campus Safety Officer requested for Lower Merion Police to respond to a juvenile problem at the Duck Pond. The juveniles were warned on Thursday to stay off of campus and were back on Friday. They gave the Campus Safety Officer a hard time when approached this evening. The juveniles fled though Cadbury Gate.

 

Saturday, April 16th

12:40 a.m. Noise Complaint, North Dorms

A caller from an outside house called to complain about loud music in the area of the north dorms. Officers responded and requested for the volume to be lowered. No further issues.

12:54 a.m. Harassment, North Dorms

A caller reported a group of males making inappropriate comments to her as she was walking in the area of the north dorms. Officers checked the area and negative results.

 

Sunday, April 17th

1:30 a.m. Fire Alarm, Leeds Hall

An alarm activation at Leeds Hall was caused by the inappropriate discharge of a fire extinguisher. Alarm reset.

1:38 a.m. Vandalism, Leeds Hall

Section 2 of Leeds Hall was found to be trashed. No suspects at this time; pictures were taken.

1:51 a.m. Noise Complaint, 11 Hannum Drive

A report was received of loud music at 11 Hannum Drive. Students in the area were advised of complaint by Campus Safety and silenced the music.

 

Monday, April 18th

7:13 a.m. Suspicious Person, Lloyd Hall

A student reported that she encountered an individual in her dorm hallway who quickly ran out of the building after seeing the student. It was later determined that the male was a Housekeeping supervisor who was working in the building.

8:00 a.m. Theft, Founders Green

The Student Activities Office reported that someone had removed approximately 2000 pinwheels from Founders Green and other areas which had been put in place for “Pinwheel Day”. Investigation ongoing.

4:17 p.m. Property Damage, Walton Road

A parked vehicle on Walton Road received minor damage after another vehicle hit it while pulling into a parking space.

5:00 p.m. Suspicious Person, Ryan Gym

A report was received that a male dressed in a blue “security” shirt threatened to use a taser on a young boy who was skateboarding in front of Ryan Gym. An informational alert was sent to the community; investigation on-going.

 

Tuesday, April 19th

10:11 a.m. Theft, Gummere Hall

The leader of a student organization reported the theft of a hand cart. The incident occurred on 4/16/16.

Wednesday, April 20th

10:15 a.m. Towed Vehicle, Carter Road

An unregistered vehicle was towed from a student space on Carter Road for having several unpaid violations.

7:38 p.m. Animal Complaint, Duck Pond

A campus visitor reported two loose pit bulls in the area of the Duck Pond and the creek about 10 minutes prior to calling. Officers spoke to someone in the area who stated they ran towards the Cadbury gate. They were no longer in the area.

 

Thursday, April 21st

1:47 a.m. Alcohol Related Illness, Lloyd Hall

A student requested Campus Safety on location at Lloyd Hall room for an individual yelling uncontrollably. Officers located the individual who had been drinking and smoking marijuana. The student was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital via ambulance. The Nurse on Call and Graduate Assistant were notified.
