Security Summary 5/10-16

Friday, May 10th

12:04 a.m. Noise Complaint Lunt Hall

A report was received of loud music coming from Lunt Hall. Students were located outside of the building and advised to go inside to the basement. Students complied.

Saturday May 11th

2:24 p.m. Defiant Trespass Walton Road

Officer reported a strange encounter with a campus visitor. It was later discovered that the male had previously been issued a trespass letter. Officers will contact Haverford Township Police if the male is observed on campus again.

11:54 p.m. Alcohol Illness Barclay Hall

A report was received of a sick student (alcohol related) at Barclay Hall. Student transported by ambulance to Bryn Mawr Hospital.

3:11 a.m. Assault Stokes Hall

Officer observed a Bryn Mawr College student involved in a physical altercation with her boyfriend; a visiting student from another college. The matter was referred to the Bryn Mawr College Dean’s Office.

Sunday, May 12th

9:01 p.m. Fire 38 Hannum Drive

A student reported the local detector going off and something burning inside an apartment at 38 Hannum Drive. An alarm activation was received as officers were responding. Another student had forced his way into the apartment and put out a small fire on the stove. Safety Director and Graduate Assistant were notified.

1:54 a.m. Investigate Auto Commercial Lot

A student reported that a vehicle was unlocked and empty behind HCA 11. The car’s decal was checked, but the owner’s status could not be determined. Investigation continuing.

 Monday, May 13th

5:11 p.m. Unauthorized Use Swan Field

A child climbed into the observation tower at Swan Field and got stuck inside. He was unable to get out. Officer requested assistance from members from the Men’s Rugby Team, who removed the child from the tower. The child was unharmed.

5:50 p.m. Suspicious Person Comfort Hall

A student reported that an unknown person entered Comfort Hall and went to the third floor. The individual had been standing behind the door. Officers checked the building but did not find the individual.

Tuesday, May 14th

8:50 a.m. Suspicious Activity Founders Hall

A staff member reported that it appeared as if someone had entered her office via a ground floor window, sometime overnight. Nothing appeared to be missing or damaged.

9:40 a.m. Suspicious Person Campus Center

Staff member reported a strange individual in the Campus Center. The male stated he was on campus for a job interview with the USGA. Individual finished eating and left campus without incident. It was later learned that the male had been asking for free food from the Coop.

Wednesday, May 15th

5:59 p.m. Personal Injury 50 Hannum Drive

Student reported that his suite mate fell out of bed and may have broken his leg at 50 Hannum Drive. Haverford Police and Haverford Medical Services responded. The injured student refused treatment and appeared to be ok.

Thursday, May 16th

3:04 p.m. Property Damage Yarnall House

A student was peering into a rear window at Yarnall House. The window fell out of the frame, into the building and broke on the floor. Student was not injured. Facilities advised.

4:20 p.m. Noise Complaint 19 Hannum Drive

A report was received of loud music coming from 19 Hannum Drive. Residents were advised of the complaint and lowered the music.

5:24 p.m. Noise Complaint 19 Hannum Drive

A second noise complaint received of loud music coming from 19 Hannum Dr. Students advised. A half hour later, a third complaint was received. Officer turned off the stereo, no one was in the apartment at the time. Students advised of complaint.
